Is a great condition 2003 Nissan Maxima a good buy for daily driver? Or is it too old of a buy?
No. I would not daily drive that vehicle. I would walk away. You also didn't mention mileage, price or where it's being sold but I can tell you it's not a good idea.

I have an 02 maxima that burns a lot of oil. About a quart every 500 miles. It's a know issue with the 02 Maxima's and I think the 03s have a similar issue. I would check the maxima forums. In my experience the nissan quality is not on par with Toyota. Also the maxima ride quality is kinda harsh(but sportier than a Camry.)
