I have a 2003 nissian xterra with 187,000 miles that makes a ticking noise only at idle. I’m not sure if it has valve lifters or if the engine is a sohc

That is a single over head cam engine. Is it more hot or cold? Those can get a exhaust manifold cracks that cause a clicking type noise
