Has over 300,000 miles on it still looks great and runs well. Is there anything I can do to fix the frame that makes sense?

It depends on how rotted it is, where it is, and if you or a friend can weld. My 1999 Ranger had rot around both of the rear shock mounts, but the majority of the frame was still solid. I paid a professional welding friend I have $200 to weld quarter inch plate over the rotted areas and undercoated the new metal. If you don't have access to the know-how or the equipment, shops will charge $500+ for a minor job like mine, which will quickly make a vehicle not worth the investment.
