2004 corolla oil leak

Topic starter

I have a 2004 m/t corolla with 210,000 miles and it has a oil leak on the passenger side. Does anybody know what it could be.

Provide more details/pictures.

It is under the passenger side I first noticed it when I was changing the brake rotors, it is also not the valve cover and I have confirmed that it is oil. I was thinking the timing chain tensioner but there isn't much oil leaking from there.

Probably(and hopefully) only a valve cover gasket leaking, but it's best to get a leak dye test kit and find out for sure.

Is it the button on the side of the message?

Yes, the up arrow is a an up vote and a down arrow is a down vote. (You downvoted mine as well, but no big deal.)

Ok thanks for the info.

It's all good!

The up arrow is an up vote = good

The down arrow is a down vote = bad

I have another question the car also makes a semi-rapid on off humming noise when driving upwards of 50 mph. I am pretty sure it's not the bearings and is coming from the rear of the car.

Check those bearings more carefully, that's a classic symptom of the initial stages of wheel bearing failure.

Ok I will check them.
