My hubby says tranny slipping… bought 3 mos ago 147000 6cyl automatic. I watched ur vids n went to AZone for codes. P0301 P2240 P0154 P0305 P0300. Hubby doesn’t believe tune up will fix it, but I’m get tune up tomorrow n show codes. Shud I have them check tranny fluid n filter, in addition to O2 sensor n circuit codes?

I would junk the car. It's not worth possibly replacing both the engine and transmission on a car like this. I hope you didn't pay too much for it.

Shud I have them check tranny fluid n filter,

it's too late for that. The transmission is already worn out.

You can dump in some transmission additive and hope it lasts until next year, but I would start looking for another vehicle.

Automatic transmissions are weak on those cars. Check fluid level but if it's slipping it's probably worn out inside, likely not serviced properly over the last 18-19 years, and changing fluid may make it worse. (See the FAQ section on changing transmission fluid.) Lucas additive might help it last a little longer but would just be a temporary bandaid at best.

If the transmission has not been maintained other maintenance may also be lacking. Transmission replacement alone would exceed the car's value, let alone other needed repairs. I would not put a lot of money into that thing.
