2004 Honda Pilot intermittent starting issues

Intermittent starting problem with my 2004 Honda Pilot with AWD.

Cranks strong but will not start-  whenever this happens I cannot shift out of Park (with key in and foot on brake).

200K so I replaced the fuel pump and didn't seem to help.

Have had a long-standing P0740 transmission code-

Eventually will start and then runs fine.

Did you also replace the fuel filter?

Try spraying a little starting fluid into the intake and crank. If it fires up immediately then you have spark and the problem is fuel delivery. Also check the FAQ for info on diagnosing starting problems.
