Hi Scotty - love your channel. My wife has a 2004 Prius with a 181K miles; last year we got a replacement battery after the original died. Recent trip to the mechanic for an oil change found front and rear shock absorbers are extremely rusted and need replacing, as well as the suspension stabilizer/sway bar bushing. The quoted parts and labor is $2800. Is it worth it, or should she just drive it until the wheels fall off?! Thanks so much!

Back if you don't do a lot of highway driving where you need stability I would just leave it alone. Plus get a quote somewhere else you can get it done much lower price than that

You can get KYB front struts for $125.00 a piece and rear shocks $90.00 a piece also stabilizer links for $26.00 a piece. Rock Auto parts.  About $500.00 total for parts.

I did it myself its not hard to do and you save a lot of money

Thank you both very much!

FWIW, I did the rear struts to a 2004 Prius myself.  It took more time to take apart the interior to access the struts, than to actually change the struts themselves.  It could be a potentially DIY job.

The front struts may be a little more complicated.
