2004 Toyota sienna XLE 284,000 miles
Automatic back door will not open from the outside. Replaced the sensor switch in the handle outside and the motor and latch. Still no response will not open with the key fob or do anything have checked the fuses.
It will open from the inside by pushing down the two arm latches in the panel
Realize that all runs wirelessly. And if you did replace the motor and the latch, the wireless system is broken down. Those things are the royal pain in the butt to work on. Even my fancy scan tool does not access its system. It could be a mod Joel problem, but like I say, only person that's available to even work on is a guy with a Toyota dealer scan too l
@scottykilmer Do you know if we are able to switch out the tailgate with one from an LE to bypass all of that? (This one is an XLE) Or is it the same issue with all of them?
@rachel-compton Scotty does not usually return to topics he has already answered. Given the electrical system complexity of even a vehicle that age it would not likely be an easy swap.
