You are my last great hope to figure out what is making my 2004 S80 T5 AWD shake.
In summary my S80 Volvo shakes only in Park or when I’m stopped and car in Drive. Once underway the shaking and vibration stops.
My mechanic installed 5 motor mounts. Shaking continued so installed VVT sensors intake and exhaust plus cam position sensor and car still shakes. Also installed
front strut assemblies, new spark plugs replaced and shaking persists. In addition replaced tensioners and timing belt and ensured timing was correct. Lastly oil and filter was changed. With all this work shaking and vibration continues. What could be the problem? The shaking goes away while driving and only happens when stopped.
What could be the problem?
The problem could be a worn torque converter. Scotty has said quite a few times his Celica has the same symptom. Poor quality aftermarket engine and transmission mounts will also transmit excess vibration into the vehicle.
