Hello,
I have a 2004 Volvo V70 with 82k miles that loses drive when making left turns. I bought with 79k miles. It also has random 'disengagment' or hard shifting. Especially around 2000 rpm. It's just a cash beater to get to work. Any ideas on the issue?

Does it have sufficient transmission fluid? What is the fluid condition?
Yes, it has a sufficient amount of fluid. It could probably use a flush. I did swap about a quart of fluid with Lucas anti slip to see if it made any difference. It didnt.

Don't flush it and don't use snake oil products. If the fluid is not burnt and/or gritty you could do a drain and fill. (It looks like that trans doesn't have a filter than can be replaced without major disassembly.)
Other than that you're going to need a transmission expert to diagnose it using a professional-grade scan tool.
