- Hi Scotty I've got a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS with the Ecotec 2.0L Supercharged LSJ engine and the F35 Manual 5 Speed Transmission. I change the oil every 3000 miles and it doesn't use or burn any oil whatsoever. I've heard the timing chain guides or tensioner can go bad on these cars. Do you have any recommendation on a good time to change it? The car has 75400 miles on it currently.

Well heck, if it doesn't make any noise, leave it alone. When attentioner starts to go it will rattle especially upon startups. Then you change it
