Scotty, I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7 (196k on body, tranny, transfer case etc. 120k on engine). It's a 4x4 with rear wheel abs but has a front left wheel speed sensor. I just bought the truck and realized coming home that the cruise does not turn on at all. I have 2 codes that I think might be contributing, the first is P1501 for wheel speed correlation, and the second is an ABS code 73 for inoperative watchdog inhibit. I noticed that the guys I got it from did a cobble job on this truck once I got it on the lift, and I could see the clip where the wire for the wheel speed sensor is supposed to be but could not locate the wire or sensor, I'm thinking they may have changed the hub at some point and stuck one on there without the sensor or wire. I located the correct hub and was thinking about installing it soon. Do you think that wheel speed sensor code could be contributing to the ABS code? And do you think I'll be headed the right direction in getting my cruise back by installing the correct hub with the sensor on it?

Well, the wheel sensors have to be working properly for ABS to work.

You can find a shop manual for that vehicle at the link below, it will have troubleshooting information for the codes as well details for cruise control operation and pretty much everything else:
