2005 Ford Explorer oil leak

I took to mechanic and changed engine valve cover gasket on the ford explorer 2005. No oil leaks on the sides but there seems to be oil leaking next to the fuel injectors. And I'm getting poor gas mileage idk if the fuel injector is causing the leak to come out from side of valve cover but I see oil near the fuel injectors.

please don't double-post. Thank you.

Have you tried checking the engine timing?

because if the pistons heads are worn and the timing is off it might be putting oil up there

No I havent

I just read that that car has variable valve timing so i think it could just be worn piston heads

you could probably do a compression test or find someone with the tools to do it and see if that is it

Oh ok u don't think it's fuel injectors ?

I don't know why there would be oil in the fuel injectors in the first place so I think it is the piston head. Just do a compression test on all the pistons first it would probably be a good bet
