I have the choice to get a 2005 Odyssey or a 2012 Equinox. My mother has had the Honda since brand new and I know it has been maintained. The Chevy has been my son's for 3 years and he has kept it maintained and experienced no problems. So which one would you choose? Either one will be free for me.

what about miles?
They are both pretty awful cars truth be told, but I think the Odyssey is most likely to land you in the hole.

I had a 2005 odyssey. I had it until the transmission went out at 200K. Be sure the timing belt has been changed or that will be $1K. Check the motor mounts. Do the slider doors work well? The motor is really strong. If the transmission fluid has been religiously changed than I would go for it.
