I have a 2005 Silverado 5.3 it was making a ticking sound and I discovered that it had and exhaust leak I got that fixed and they smoke tested it and it was sealed up good. The noise is still present when accelerating. people have told me it could be something in the manifold. But I figured I would look to America’s mechanic for answers. “ or at least one of his trusted members”

of course it depends where the sound is coming from those GM V8 engine or notorious for making ticking noises from internal wear that often requires rebuilding the engine to repair but they can also go years that way making the noise check to see what exactly the noise is coming from see my video finding the source of car noises Scotty
