Hello Scotty, I am Franklin from Nigeria. I have a 2005 toyota corolla take consumes a lot of fuel. I have changed spark plugs & oxygen sensors & yet no improvement. Meanwhile, I don't have a catalyst converter anymore on my car. Could that be the cause?

Did someone remove the cat? That can interfere with the fuel trims but generally it doesn't. Check your air filter and MAF sensor if it is equipped.

The cat was burnt off a long time ago & I didn't bother replacing them. Thanks for your advice; I will check the MAF sensor & also replace air filter.

If the cat was burnt, you either had raw fuel or oil entering the exhaust. Check your fuel trims with a scantool.
