My headlights are always on day or night; switch on or off. Is this normal? It’s like switch does nothing.

It is normal here in Canada where daytime running lights are mandatory. They run in sort of a lower power mode. I think it helps make your vehicle more visible to others, and I think it's great. I'll take every little bit that helps keep idiots from crashing into me.
