Fluid leak under car

2006 Impala

There is fluid leaking under the car to the left of the passenger front tire, also a burning smell from under the hood when I drive even a short distance. Please help, i have taken it to the Mechanic, several times , got a Valve Job, New Lines and Seals, even a Radiator replaced, all to no avail. I am a disable Senior living on a limited fixed income and cannot afford to keep bringing the car to the Mechanic, whom I think is taking advantage of me. I  hate to say it, he has a good reputation, but I've spent over 1K already and cannot afford to spend anymore money. Please advise me.

Thanking you in advance,

CNYC

what kind of fluid?

@imperator I believe it's transmission fluid.

Probably transmission cooler lines.

What color is the fluid that is leaking out? Which fluid level is going down?

It looks like red or brown, it's hard to tell as it's on the driveway (black top).

Thank you for reading and inquiring.

@cnyc You can put a piece of white cardboard or poster board under the car to confirm the color.

Not all transmission have dipsticks.

it sounds like your mechanic is a part changer with no diagnostic skills. In other words, change your mechanic.
