Scotty,

I do not know whether the timing belt on the Civic has ever been replaced. It was my daughter's gift and she does not know about it.

What do I need to replace along with the timing belt on the Civic?

Thank you,

MB

I’m assuming the Civic engine has a similar design to my 1999 Accord.

I recommend replacing the water pump and the tensioner while you are under there. If they eventually go out, you’ll need to take everything apart again. So might as well change them while you are down there.

Some places sell Aisin kits, where it has the timing belt, balancing belt, water pump, and tensioner.

My kit came with an Aisin water pump. Mitsuboshi belts, and a Koyo tensioner. I believe these to be OEM suppliers for Honda.
