I am thinking about buying a 2006 Ford F150 Lariet for $8200.00. The truck has the 5.4L V8 with 132000 miles.

Those were the early years that Ford began using the (infamous) Triton 5.4L Triton 24V V8 (3-valve) in those trucks. These engines had some inherent issues (the most severe related to the timing chain system) that if the previous owner was not on top of the engine maintenance including engine oil changes (every 3,000 miles recommended on these engines) then you are looking potentially at a new engine (worst case).
