The fourth gear of the transmission is damaged. Also, an oil leak began after switching from conventional to synthetic oil, unsure of the source of the leak but diagnosed it as not from the engine.
Is it worth replacing the transmission/ converting to manual/ replacing the vehicle? What are your suggestions?

Considering that that's just a V6 Pontiac they're not worth that much money I would probably look for a used transmission and hope it works or go all out and buy remanufactured one. But if you're not nuts about the car sell it as is maybe somebody wants to buy it it's still runs

The engines and computers are different. It usually requires serious modification and not worth it.
