2006 Pontiac g6 won't crank intermittently

My car wouldn't crank over after trying several times. I called a tow truck and he got in it and it started right up. I had him tow it to my mechanic anyway and it wouldn't crank over for them either. Acted almost like a dead spot in the starter. They replaced the starter and it was good for a couple of weeks. It happened again but by keep trying it I finally got it started so I drove it over to my mechanic and over a period of three days it started for them every time. So I picked the car up and a couple of days later the car wouldn't crank over again no matter how many times I tried it. I spoke to my mechanic, and he called someone he knew at GM and he thought that the computer should be reprogramed and only the dealer could do it. Any ideas?

Check your ignition switch, battery and alternator.

I put the battery on a tester and it came up as good and the voltage is good. The alternator was putting out the correct voltage. Is there something else I need to check on the alternator? The ignition switch has not been checked yet. Thank you for your help.
