my wife's car was driving on the highway a little less than an hour away when her check engine light came on she tried to make it home but the car shut off on her after about 30 mins but she says she heard no bad noises. when i got it towed to my house i scanned it with 3 codes showing up p0112 p0117 and p0327 i then inspected the engine and the coolant reservoir cap was loose and leaked onto some of the engine. the serpentine belt had fallen off due to being wet and the alternator pulley was bad i have since changed both the alternator and the belt the engine turns over very slowly even with a jump i detect no signs of coolant oil mixing and i have spark im just wondering what next steps i should take.
Well, I would start by replacing the battery because when the belt fell off, the charging system didn't work and if you had a weak battery that could have finished it off. Realize often you cannot even jumpstart a truly bad battery. I would start with a new battery first
