Hi, I've got a 2006 toyota solara 4 cylinder 138k miles.
I recently changed the power steering rack and pinion due to leakage, and for the 1st 2 months it felt stiff(hard) and handled great.
But now it I feels really light and is just all over the place especially when driving above 60mph, I really have to hold on tight else I'll hit something. Please how can I make the steering hard(stiffer) is this possible? I change all 4 tires and recently did a wheel alignment. Shortly after replacing the rack and pinion.
Thank you for your insights
Did you use a reman or brand new steering rack?
Did you check all the other suspension components to check for any play?
Brand new steering rack and pinion.
Also regarding the suspension all 4 were replaced earlier this year.
Is there no way to make it stiffer for my car?
Take it back to who installed it and check what’s going on.
Okay sir, thank you
