2007 Dodge Nitro 4.0 stalling randomly

Hi Scotty, I have a 2007 Dodge Nitro with the 4.0 liter engine. After having my mechanic change the spark plugs, which you have to remove the intake plenum to do. It started throwing P0507, Idle speed higher than expected. Now the car randomly stalls when coming to a stop. Also seems to hesitate a little coming off idle.

I'm thinking vacuum leak. I can't take it back to my mechanic because he died. (Seriously)

Anyway, I was thinking maybe he didn't use a new plenum gasket when he reinstalled the plenum. I have checked all the vacuum hoses I can find and can't find any leaks. But you really can't get to where the plenum bolts to the intake manifold. I guess I need a smoke machine.

Do you know if anything else could cause those symptoms?

 Thanks, Bob S.

Yeah it could be the plenum gasket if you want find a good mechanic who has a smoke machine you can smoke like it and find leaks and the machine will tell if there are any leaks just by watching the pressure gauge
