2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually will automatically shift into 4th gear. Happens mostly on hard bumps, but the other day happened when making a left turn in a cul-de-sac. changed out the solenoid in the transmission and the TPIM. any other suggestions? this a transmission issue or power/wiring issue?
Seems to be an internal transmission issue. Check the transmission with a professional mechanic before it is too late.
yeah..I had a 2007 Dodge 4x4 Laramie extended cab 3500 Dually last year but never experienced any trans problems. Reading on the internet check this siteout in regards to POWER TRAIN problems.

One quote from the site reads:
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 . The contact stated while driving down a hill at approximately 40 mph, the transmission erroneously shifted into low range. The failure caused the vehicle to suddenly decelerate and the driver lost control of the vehicle. The failure occurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the gear shifter was faulty. The gear shift was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The failure mileage was 17,000.
"Happens mostly on hard bumps, but the other day happened when making a left turn in a cul-de-sac."...that screams of a moving wire issue !
Corrosion, rodent damage or pinched wiring harness...somewhere harness/wire is flexing a bit causing an intermittent signal.
