I have a 2007 honda civic with 190k miles on it. It can barely start, I thought it was the battery. I went to auto zone and it turns out I need to charge it. Then I said can you test the alternator, the test says 14.2 volts (which in my opinion was charging fine) and 49.53mV of ripple. I do not know what ripple is, but the guy said it should be the same as the volts. Does this mean I have to change the alternator? Will it damage my computer module? Thank you!

It is right around the threshold. It is a good idea to change it to avoid possible computer issues.
thanks!
