nissan maxima how do I fix smoke coming from engine

2007 nissan maxima 80k miles

Car was leaking from the high-pressure power steering to the point where one bottle wouldn't last a drive back and forth let it sit for 2-3 weeks before changing hose. It was leaking meanwhile it sat

I changed the hose finally but it leaked again from that 24mm bolt-on power steering pump. I tightened it but it leaked again. It was the gasket

Finally, a week later I changed the 2 gaskets and made sure the bolt wasn't forced in.

After jump-starting with a portable jump starter that goes directly to the battery which i had to do to keep connecting and reconnecting because the power wasn't enough at first to get it to turn on.

Finally, once the car was on no slight smoke for about 5 mins while i checked for leaks. It definitely did smell like it was the power steering that fell everywhere but after waiting about like 10 to 20 mins it was still going.

The car does not overheat at all stays at operating temps.

The car had no smoke issue like this before and it only comes from the top of engine and slightly from below.

I would only get a tiny amount of smoke before when jump starting other cars but it would go away quickly.

It also like see throughish smoke not super dark smoke.

Could it be the hose touching the engine? but this is only in the back of the engine it was in a hard spot for me since there's no room i Saw no leaks at all near the connections near the rack and pinion and pump. I was lazy and didn't put the holder for the hose on the new hose. Although I checked and I dont see it touching the engine or anything that could be really hot. It's a high quality duralast hose with a much better heat sheild than the original also.

Perhaps I messed up an air hose when pulling out the line?

bump... test post?

There's probably fluid on the exhaust manifold. Clean it off or let it burn off.

I agree it’s probably residual fluid. It can be easy for the fluid to leak on the flex portion of the exhaust and depending on how much that can take a while to go away
