Hi Scotty, first time poster. I found a 2007 Suburban 2500 6.0 Police Pursuit Vehicle with 117,000 miles for $8,000. The guy that is selling it was the original police officer that used it during the time it was owned by the police department. Obviously they don't use this Suburban 2500 during pursuit, only for towing stuff for the police department. He bought it from the police department at 103,000 miles in 2016, he said he barely drives it and just got the transmission rebuild by A1 Transmission. He said nothing is wrong with the Suburban, it was well maintained by the department, everything works like it should. I will be bringing a friend that is a mechanic to check it out with me. I also pulled a carfax on it and everything checks out, is this worth buying if nothing is wrong with it? Thank you!!!!

I’d pass. That’s wayyy too much for a 14yr old GM.

If nothing’s wrong with it, why was the transmission rebuilt?

If you are gonna buy it, pay very little, after a mechanic gives you the green light.

Thank you, good to hear a different opinion.

Buy it. Those 6.0 ones are pretty bulletproof and the transmission will probably last 200k miles if you treat it nice. Only thing to worry about is the rear differential that are prone to failure. But those aren't too bad to replace and are easy enough to find.

That's what my mechanic said as well, as long as the Suburban have no other issue, I should be good to go. I check KBB and NADA, private party is range from $7500-$11,000, and retail is $12,900. After a 10 minutes conversation, I got him to agree to $8000 if everything checks out. Thank you
