Hey Scotty a friend of mine has a 2007 Jetta and yesterday she was driving it and she went to take off from a stop sign and it started making a loud grinding noise super loud now you can start the car up that sounds fine until you put it into reverse or drive and the grinding noise is super loud and the car will not move what's wrong

Your transmission took a big dump.

You could check and see if it's just real low on fluid, but if it's making grinding noises chances are the transmission is worn out.
