Hi Scotty,

I have a 2008 civic sedan with 268000 miles recently diagnosed by Honda with a crack engine block and with a cat failure engine code. Car burn most of its coolant every two weeks so I have been keep adding it. So far I don’t have overheating issues. I drove the car from San Francisco to Austin earlier this year and is fine. Just losing lot of coolant. This issue It all started My car couldn’t run last weekend it. It will start and immediately shut off and it does not hold rpm even I give the gas. It also shut off when switch from park to drive. However This week the car is running ok. Since I am leaving Austin to another country next year July so I don’t want to blow out $10k on another car. I am thinking to get my engine block fixed instead, what’s your opinion on my situation? Since it will need $3k for another engine, I thought the best option would be try to fix the crack engine block. Plus I need to find a good mechanic in Austin which is hard to find. Wish u live here. It’s hard to find a good mechanic nowadays

You'd need to have a good mechanic evaluate it to see if repairing the block is even an option.
