Hi there,
I have a 2008 Honda Civic si(manual) with 174k miles on it. So, my car starts up just fine but when my car is idling and I tried to step on the clutch to shift into gear 1, the RPM would slowly drops and my car would die. I can shift into 1st gear and start driving it if I Rev up my car first. Shifting through gears works fine but it's only when I come to a complete stop and have to shift into gear 1 to start driving, that's when my car would die. What's causing this?
Pushing in the clutch pushes the throwout bearing against the spring fingers of the pressure plate. If that is slowing down the engine, your throwout bearing is probably going bad.
Thanks for response, I'll look into it.
Try my video make your car run better with a little spray cleaner. That often fixes it but if not also check for vacuum leaks on the intake manifold system they suck air they'll do that
Thank you Scotty for the response. I'll try that.
