So in this car, the trunk just won't open and the locking mechanism is screwed up. Mechanic is saying $2500 to fix the electronic lock problems and I say hell no haha. The car drives fine but it starts to shake at 80mph. Should I just sell the car or drive it till it dies?

What?! $2500 for a broken lock? Find another mechanic or take it to the Honda dealer.
For the high speed shaking, how old are your tires, shocks & struts? Take it to a good front end shop and get them to inspect your vehicle thoroughly.
Change your mechanic for sure!
And for shaking issue at highway speed, check your tire balances in a tire shop.
Do you feel shake when you go with lower speeds? if so, check the wheel alignments.

I'd say rip that back panel open from the inside and find a way to manually move the latch or rig something up. Other option is wait for one to pop up in a junk yard and see if you can snag the latch and electronics. Shake around 80 could be as simple as old tires. It will probably run fine for a long time.
