2008 Hyundai Starting Problem

This car sometimes just doesn't start. When we turn the key to the start position, it starts but fails to catch. When that happens, we hear a clicking noise that seems to be coming from the back of the car (fuel pump?). Once the clicking stops, we can attach a backup battery to the car battery and it starts right up every time. The car battery is holding 12.5 volts. The alternator is putting out around 15 volts. I don't think it is the starter motor itself because it seems to be starting right up. In fact, I suspect the ignition switch because sometimes when we take the key out, the key warning buzzer starts buzzing and doesn't stop until we push the lock cylinder in with a finger. We are very attached to this car, bought new, has 170,000 miles on the clock.

Well you're losing power so it could certainly be a bad ignition switch. But also have the battery low test and you could just have a weak battery batteries these days can be weak and crank the engine but won't run it correctly. I'd start by testing that
