what ab a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon with 121,xxx miles for 4,000$? Obviously I would talk them down but what too?

Those can be decent cars - I would get one with a manual transmission. If you can get it for around $2000 and it checks out mechanically, it should be a relatively fun and reliable car. I wouldn't pay any more than that though.
