Hi Scotty.
I have a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 3.0 Mercedes Diesel engine in it. About once a week the red battery charging warning light will show on start up for about 5 seconds. It then goes out and the Jeep runs fine.
Checked for codes and it shows P065A.
All pulleys and the belts look fine and were changed 20,000 miles ago.
Is it likely my alternator is on its way out or could it be something else?
Many thanks.

Generally a bad alternator but check the belt tensioner as well.

Hi Doc.
Thank you for replying.
The belt tension seems ok. It is difficult to get to the tensioner as it is hidden behind the turbo resonator that feeds into the intercooler. I probably have no option other than to get it all removed and checked out.
