2008 Lexus ES350 noise

Scotty,

Love your videos!

I have a 2008 Lexus ES350 with 201k miles. Somewhere around 150k I had all 4 struts replaced because I thought they needed it. Little did I know they were so good on a Lexus. Anyway I had the shop replace with them with top of the line Monroe struts. Once done the ride was stiff much like driving a Carmaro. The firm ride is ok but there is a noise I cannot find that developed sometime after the work was done. I have had several mechanics check the noise but none have been able to find the source. I even had the front suspension checked and any worn parts replaced. I have checked the brakes, the motor mounts, wheel bearings, and so on. I believe it is the strut pistons interfacing with the rubber bushing inside. Let me describe the problem... I cannot simulate the noise by pushing up and down on the car but as soon as the car moves the noise starts. It is more pronounced the colder the weather, but it is still bad in 100 degree weather. Turning the wheels doesn't seem to affect the severity. The sound is clump, squawk sound much like hard rubber balls in a tin can. The car drives fine, no looseness in the steering, no pulling, no alignment  issues. What is your professional thoughts?

Thank you

Can you make a YouTube video of the noise & post the link here?

A few months ago, I replaced the front swaybar links on my '07 Lexus ES350.  The car made similar noises before I changed them.  It was possible to swap them myself because they required no adjustment or alignment and no special tools.

Did you replace the old rubber strut mounts too?
