Hello to Scotty and any other mechanics that are seeing this. I haven't posted on here for a couple years but here I am glad to be back. After 5 years of owning my 2008 Lincoln MKX with 266,177 miles on it. I am wondering how long I should expect my vehicle to last with this many miles? I just replaced my entire suspension system and a valve cover gasket and it runs like a dream floating on clouds. I drive 65mph maximum on the highway even if the legal speed limit is higher to help fuel economy and also reducing wear and tear. I also accelerate very gently trying to shift below 2000 RPM. Is this car worth keeping until 300,000+ miles considering spending more than what the vehicle is worth? And would it be possible to reach 400,000 or even 500,000 miles on the original engine and transmission if the fluids are kept up on changing and I drive like an old grandpa? Much appreciated for any response because they don't make these cars like they used to and I would hate buying a newer car. This thing has ended up being a champ so far and as it's aged I've driven very gentle on it.

well fuel economy is one thing, but an engine needs to be opened up once in a while to stretch its legs. Italian tune up as Scotty calls it.

Most of the time, the transmission is the first to go. Have you been maintaining that? 500k is a lot to ask of it.
Since it's AWD, don't forget you have two axles and a transfer case to maintain as well.
Transmission problems are the top two complaints for this vehicle ( https://www.carcomplaints.com/Lincoln/MKX/2008/)
According to Kelley Blue Book, a 2008 MX with 266K miles in good condition, it's valued between $2200 and $3500. Personally, I would start looking for another car now but continue driving the MX until it died or needed another major repair. Is this car worth keeping until 300,000+ miles considering spending more than what the vehicle is worth?
