I have a 2008 Lincoln MKX AWD with 249,650 miles. I have a problem with the ignition not able to start the engine, sometimes it will click and sometimes it does nothing at all and of course sometimes. The car starts up fine on a cold start with the key but when I'm not able to start the car I have to depend on my remote start which starts the car perfectly fine for me to drive and do what I need to do. What could this issue possibly be if you had to guess? Thank you for your time in reading about this problem.
If it starts OK every time with the remote starter but not with the key I would suspect a problem with a worn ignition switch.
Well of course have the battery load tested but if that's okay that's off in the sign of the starter motor. It's just burning out needs replacing
Thank you for your answer Scotty. The battery load was good. I believe you about that starter motor burning out with the amount of use this old Lincoln had got over the years.

If the starter is going out.. but you're saying it starts fine with a remote key fob, so why would the starter be the problem? IDK..
