Topic starter

I have a 2008 Mercury sable Premier.  I had a bad coil pack and spark plug ( misfire)  I changed the coil pack and plug and realized fuel is not goin to the cylinder.

when I disconnected attachments  ( coil pack to fuel line) no change in how the car runs.   Any idea what I can do to check line? trying to make an easy fix to sell car.

please help.

thanks Kathy/NJ

Either clean or replace the bad fuel injector with #MP56128, $50, Autozone.  Any codes?

code p0355.

thank you so much for the part number. hopefully its something I can change on my own. I have become my own mechanic.

It appears from this code that there is an open or short in driver circuit #5 and the PCM is shutting down the injector.  Is the replacement coil pack OEM or after market?  Check all your wiring connections for tightness and cleanliness, no frayed or grounded wiring.

i purchase the coil pack from Advanced auto. I checked the coil pack on cylinder 1 & 3 and had no issues. is the PCM the computer?

Yes.  Make sure to check all your grounding connections for corrosion and tightness.  Hopefully, it's not the PCM.  Make sure your battery is fully charged and your charging system is good, ie, about 12.7 volts at the battery with engine off and about 14.7 volts at the battery at idle.  From what you said, I still think there is a problem with the wiring to the new coil pack.  Good luck.

I am grateful for all of your wisdom! I will definitely provide an update
