2008 pontiac torrent,149,000miles, 3.4 automatic,had a rebuilt jasper engine installed in sept., 3 weeks later it died, towed back to shop that put engine in,said he had some trouble starting, thought it might be fuse box, took to shop that specializes in car electronics, said he charged it and sees no problems, told him to put in new battery and altenator, ran for couple weeks, then died again while driving,no crank, nothing, next day it started, battery was about12.5, died when i got it home, battery was still charged, then started next day again, then next day took to chevy dealer, they still dont know whats wrong
Most likely an electronic problem. It's a common story with replacement engines. Somebody is going to have to go over than engine with a fine tooth comb and make sure everything was hooked up correctly. It should be the shop that replaced it, but maybe they're not up to the task. Not much we can do for you over the internet sadly. Hopefully the dealer figures it out.
