Hello Scotty,
I just bought a 2008 Toyota Camry from a private party with 150,000 miles and no warranty. Everything is perfect except one thing.
It has a grey cloth cover on dashboard that I didn't remove before buying.
After taking it off I now see I have a shiny melted dashboard. Please tell me you know how to fix this without replacing it.
All videos and web search show a product that just about everyone says doesn't even work
Please help me thanks in advance!
There is no way to fix it other than replacement. The cover installed by the previous owner is probably the best way to deal with it. Seeing as how you're starting off with a 17-year-old car it's probably best not to worry too much about cosmetics, just be thankful that everything else is apparently perfect.
Hopefully that car has the V6 engine. The 2.4 4-cylinder engine is known for oil burning problems due to defective piston rings installed by the factory.

You can't really un-melt plastic
