Hi scotty. I have a 2008 Toyota Corolla with 117,000 miles on it with a manual 5 speed transmission. As of now it shifts fine but I have been hearing these transmissions are defective and can fail cause of bad input shaft bearings. I also heard that Toyota fixed the problem on later models. Is this something I have to worry about? I change gear oil every 30,000 miles

The fact that you got 117,000 miles (and counting) on your original clutch kit speaks volumes about your driving habits & the build quality of the transmission.
If I were you I’d stop worrying about it, and replace the entire clutch kit when your present clutch wears out..

If the car is not having any issues I would not worry about it.
