2009 Altima won’t start if the weather is nice?!

I have a 2009 Nissan Altima S w/CVT, roughly 107,000 miles, regularly maintained. The steering wheel lock module has been replaced either 2 or 3 times during the life of the vehicle; I am the second owner and have replaced it once myself. I’ve noticed that if it’s over 75 degrees outside, my car doesn’t want to start. Doesn’t happen consistently, but does happen often. I push the button, all lights in gauge cluster come on and car goes into accessory mode but doesn’t start. Pressing button repeatedly will get it to switch into “on,” but doesn’t always get an engine response. Eventually, it will start, but it takes many button pushes and prayers. I have performed this task with the key inserted in the key slot as well as with it not inserted. Car isn’t showing any codes. Have spoken to 2 different dealerships’ service departments with no answers except expensive diagnostics fees that I can’t afford. I need this car to be reliable enough to take out of town soon due to gas prices—any thoughts?

Have your battery and alternator tested first. Then check the starter. If you think that you are having a problem with the key fob, go to a locksmith.
