2009 CRV, Oil consumption worries!

Hey everyone!
My CRV seems to have used some oil, not very much. Maybe a little bit down from the top dot on the dipstick but still well above the halfway point, with about 2700 miles on this oil. I know, not very much. I use Penzoil 5W-20 conventional oil, changed religiously at 3k miles.
Would a switch to Synthetic oil help with the slight consumption? I'm gonna clean/inspect the PCV valve soon to see if that's the culprit. I have read that a switch to synthetic may exacerbate the consumption, not sure if that's true or not.
The car has 89k, so fairly low in mileage considering the age.

I would never waste my money on full synthetic oil on a 12 year old engine.  I do, however, clean or replace my PCV valve at every oil change.

Is that oil the recommended oil for your car? I would use fill synthetic oil for the best result. And yes do check the PCV valve as well and see if it needs to be replaced.

Yup, I use the recommended 5W-20 oil as per the engine oil filler cap.
