Hi, hope someone can help me out with this, When i come to a stop and then add gas to go it felt like the front brakes were grabbing, it would jerk 2 or3 times and drive normal. Checked out front brakes everything seems good, except pads were low so replaced them. Retest same results. So then i do a test with just using my emergency brake to come to a stop and get the same symptoms. Changed back brake shoes, new hardware kit, new wheel cylinders, lubed up 2 rear emergency brake cables. Retest still doing the same, then i noticed when i came to a stop and took my foot off the brake if i shifted into reverse it would backup but would not go forward in drive this test is without touching the gas pedal. So any thoughts on this sure will help, i am far from being a mechanic but retired so have the time to work on it.
Just went and did another test. Going down steep hill put in neutral, come to a quick stop, take foot off brake and let it roll forward, no symptoms, so it doesn't look like anything to do with the brakes.
If the pads were worn, the piston had moved out from its bore and probably became corroded so now, in the pushed back in position, they stick in the bore. Easiest thing to do is get two rebuilt calipers, everybody sells them. But get them with a limited lifetime warranty. They are about $100 per pair at Rock Auto.
