hey there, did you ever fix the problem? I have an 09 Taurus with the same 6F50 transmission and I noticed it did that too, but only on hard acceleration. Drives fine otherwise. Got the car about a year ago. Clean fluid, looks like it’s been changed. No codes as well. Unrelated I did break the casing on that transmission and I was thinking of welding it back together or changing just the casing if I can but if I have to do a valve body job too maybe I should just get a new rebuilt or used transmission.
120k on mine btw
You asked a user about your problem who most likely won't see it, because they've been inactive for 3 years. I split topics for you. Next time, please don't use inactive members' problems from 3 years as a Segway to your problem. Just submit your own problem.
Thanks.
Ah I didn’t see that they were inactive. My bad. I just figured I’d ask because if they did fix it, they would likely have the answer to my problem as well.
If you don’t mind though, I’d like to link OP for other people’s reference. Just delete if you feel that is still not appropriate.

I did break the casing on that transmission
You need to replace the transmission. For a 25yo vehicle I wouldn't spend too much. Try to find a low mileage used one. Ideally one that's been tested.
Only 15 years old, but is it not possible to gut the transmission and put it in a new casing? I do believe I’ve found the part but have yet to confirm if it’s correct.
Though I did have issues of the flares so maybe I really should just change it. Before my mishap, the transmission worked fine other than the occasional flares. If it’s an issue with the valve body, would it continue to get worse? Because I could just live with the flares I don’t mind.
15 sorry. anything is possible but that doesn't mean we should do it. You say gut a transmission as if it were making a cup of coffee. Transmissions rarely get better with time.
True, it’s not going to get any better, but is the valve body going to get any worse? What’s the worse that could happen…
Also the casing is actually in two pieces bolted together so it looks like should open easily. Idk maybe I should consult with a transmission shop
worst case it gives up when you're far away from home. Consultation is a good idea.
Ah I didn’t see that they were inactive.
Really?
It says 2021 right at the top of the post. It also would have said "3 years ago" in the search results you found it in.
If you click their name you can see they never posted again after that.
I realize the post was from 3 years ago but I didn’t realize they were inactive
Some people are lurkers… who knows. But yeah, I didn’t see that next to their name.
most people ask a question and vanish forever, and there's no email notifications
