I have a 2009 saturn vue it has sat for 5 years. untouched and never has been started. we took the battery out the car too. anyways, we put a fresh battery in. and everything works but the dash and the radio. it worked before. what happend? and also we have started the car in the past week. but in park we hear this weird noise but if we put it in drive its ok. but the engine light still works. there is no check engine light on. what's going on?

rodents chewed up the wires?
no i checked they still look great. also there are some cats there. and lots of activiy so i dont think so
