My 2009 Toyota Camry XLE V6 had lights that turned on when I was on the highway. Check engine light, traction control light, and VSC light. The code was P0015, P0456, and B2281 (P0015 is what I'm worried about). They did end up turning off by its self but I want a car that doesn't have random lights turning on. I don't have any loss of power, it rides like the lights weren't even on. There were also codes with the engine having misfires twice now, I have cleared them but it doesn't trip a code until like 3 months later.
This car acts crazy but I don't want to sell it because of the V6 motor and because it's a Toyota. Are these symptoms of bigger problems in the future?
On Toyota's is common that when the CEL comes on it will turn in the VSC and Trac light. Don't worry about the those go after the PCM codes. P0015, is is a solenoid for the variable timing located in the front valve cover. Check your oil level, if it is low it can trigger that fault since that solenoid runs off of oil pressure. If oil level is fine I would remove the solenoid, it's just a 10mm bolt the you slide out the solenoid, check for oil sludge on the screen and clean it. You can also apply power directly to it and see if it's clicking. Your oil could also be really dirty.
P0456 is an EVAP leak. Check your fuel cap for tightness and check your EVAP hoses by the air box the may be disconnected when they last checked the air filter.

P0015 is the OBD-II generic code indicating the engine control module (ECM) has determined that the exhaust camshaft timing for bank 1 is more retarded than what the ECM has commanded it to be. The over-retarded timing condition can be during the advancing or retarding phase.
P0456 can be a small leak at any of the system components or hose connections.
B2281
The Power Source Control ECU and the Transmission Control ECU are connected by a cable and BEAN. If the cable information and BEAN information are inconsistent, this Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be output
I never reset the codes, the check engine light, VSC, and traction control lights just turned off by it's self.
they don't sound very serious. I think I would ignore it for now.
