Hi Scotty,
Have a 2009 Toyota Matrix with a 2.4 liter engine. This engine has known oil burning issues, my car usually burns about 0.5-1 quart of oil every 5000 miles. It’s a 100,000 mile vehicle. Recently when I drive uphill slowly I hear a little tippity tappy sound coming from the engine. (At first) then it evens out as the revs increase. So under high load I’m hearing a little engine noise. Could it be the valves or piston slapping. Maybe it’s normal noise under high load, should I take it into a mechanic. Thank you for you time,
Richard
Make a YouTube video of the noise & post the link here.
You make a video on YouTube of it and I'll watch it send the link here I just timing chain where they often do that a little I wouldn't worry about it
